I just bought some tickets to go see him on my birthday in September. My first concert, I only own the Black Album and don't think that much of it either.

I was just thinking I've never really been to a concert and I'd like to so i'll book the next one that takes my fancy and this is it. So what can I expect? What else should I check out by this guy?

i've listened to all his albums, a couple of them were awful - Blueprint (1) and Vol.2 hard knock life, the best is Blueprint 2 it's a double album with some excellent songs (many of the good ones were unreleased as singles). Never seen him live tough

*technically* they're not remixes, they're re-recordings. and also not a patch on the original Jay-Z stuff (obviously, they improve the Linkin Park originals by removing most of the discernible attributes of the original song!

i've got the Black album (awesome), Dynasty Roc (awesome), The Grey Album (awesome) and The Grey Album Remix (total, utter crap).

i bet you'll have great fun at a live show...his music has a real presence, even in the studio, and i'm sure he just doesn't stand there and plough through his tracks. do try not to get shot though.

Never really heard of him that much. Are you sure he's the most famous rapper, in the world?

I don't mean to sound noobified but even though I don't like Eminem that much, I hear him a lot more. Isn't Eminem far more well known? I hear about him a lot, unlike Jay-Z. Not too mention the likes of Tupac etc? This obviously isn't a reflection of talent, but just the level of famousity.

I got tickets too for Wembley Arena

, i'm supsised they havn't sold out yet actually.

IMO the Blueprint LP is his best album, but all his other albums have at least a couple of great tracks, worth listining to them all.
