The other day my subwoofer suddenly stopped working for no apparent reason. The blue Power LED light on the side of the amp no longer lights up and the red light on top flashes, normally both lights would stay solid. I’ve checked all of the wiring and its all fine, also I’ve checked all fuses and everything seems in order. Here's a video

It’s a JBL GTO 2060 60th anniversary amp if that helps. Any ideas?

Cheers

Poo, can you expand at all? Any ideas if it can be repaired?

Not really sure but if the wiring's fine and it was working before then the logcal solution is that something in the amp has popped.

Happened to my Vibe, just went in to protect mode no matter what I did as soon as it came on. All the wiring was good, checked the ground to the battery with a multimeter etc. Ended up sending it off for warranty replacement.

It has probably overheated and resulted in either a popped transistor in the switch mode supply. I have two alpines sat on my shelf with the same problem.

I would presume if it had properly popped the protect light would stay on permanently and not flash. check your ground at all points.

we have a winner. The ground wire was still attached to the ground point but on closer inspection it had corroded through all of the copper wire and was barely attached. Got some new wire and gold connecters from halfords and its basstastic again :D Cheers

P.S I made this thread on my gf's acount thats why im posting under a different name
