Hi there guys,

So I have I have made a huge mistake..... I have two 3TB hard disks in JBOD 1+0 (acting as a normal hard disk) on the RAID controller of my MSI K9A2 Platinum motherboard. - Promise T3 Raid Controller

I have connected them to the normal sata controller to see if I can read data from them, but the computer management asked me to use: create an MBR or GPT partition. I clicked GPT since these are 3TB but they show as unallocated. I did NOT FORMAT them!

I then panicked and connected them agian to the raid controller and the same thing when I went to computer management chose GPT and they show in unallocated.

So to sum this up. RAID JBOD 1+0 type HDD (to use as a normal hdd size) - connected them to normal sata SB600, selected GPT and connected them back onto the RAID controller Promise T3 and selected GPT. No format...

I used GetData RecoverMyFiles and all files seem to be intact including folder names and so on...

How do I get my data back? The hard drives show up in the raid array as functional but is there a way to rebuild them in the Fastrak BIOS?

Also would there be a difference if I swapped the cables of drive two with drive one or vice versa?

Thanks for any help given!

Well by initialising the disks you've written a new partition table on there.

Start with Testdisk and see if that can find anything for you.

So testdisk also recovered my files, but a strange thing is I cannot access anything. Every time I access a file it says 'access denied you do not have permission to modify this file or file not found'

Is there a way to recover the previous JBOD partition using this program? The GUI feels quite raw...
