I just picked up one Jeantech 700W storm modular.

The review said it was decent hxxp://www.xsreviews.co.uk/reviews-73.html

But I am a rather skeptical of them, it cost a fair amount, which I could get the corsair 620W which looks pretty good to me.

just more hassle, RMA this one, order a new one.

if its half decent, I will keep it.

so does anyone have any experience with them? I am doing my windows on my dekstop now and its quite silent which is good.

Jeantech PSU's are alright from what I've seen, from that review you posted the one you've got seems perfectly good.
I like that LED monitor which shows how much power your system is pulling from the wall, gimmicky but mildly interesting none the less.

Since it's quiet and will get the job done you'd be better off keeping it, returning it and getting the Corsair seems like a lot of hassle for no reason. :)

Ive had a 600w Jeantech "arctic" modular for about 12 months now, seems fine.
I took a risk buying it as I needed one pronto so I just grabbed It, im happy with it.

From what i have read it seems to be a decent enough psu the only problem being that it is supposed to be quite noisy when pushed hard.

i didnt have one of the more 'high end' jeantec psus... i had a 550 i think sorta standard one... still cost a fair bit tho!

The fan stopped spinning... only really noticed when i seen my cpu temp sitting WELL higher than usual! lol

Dad has a 600w 'high end' one, it seems solid!

Ive got a 700W Storm from jeantech. Its worked flawlessley from day 1. Looks good, modular cables and has a read out on the back to tell you how much power you are drawing from the mains. Also has a cool 120mm blue LED fan which tbh isnt that noisy.

I got mine really cheap from the purple shirt people and i would say it was a great bargain :D

Using a Jeantech Arctic 600w in my new build (Q6600, 4gb, 8800gts 640mb). Working flawlessly thus far. I don't think it's a bad brand to be fair, just not as common as some others.

I purchased mine when my budget one went pop in my old pc.

The connector to the mainboard was a bugger to fit as the cables were very stiff, that stiff one of the cables pulled free from the 20 pin connector and fried my gfx card.

Anyway got it replaced under warranty.

I still have the psu though, i did a home repair as the cable that came free was crimped in the same hole as another cable so instead of re-crimping it i stripped back abit of the insulation and soldered it to the other cable.

I should have sent it back really but couldnt be bothered.

Worked fine eversince.

Oh and it was a 500W from the guys in purple.

I don't want to scare you but unless they are greatly improved, they are only really good as a mud anchor.
Many moons ago I brought one from the purple shirt brigade. I had no end of stability issues with it. In the end I discovered that the fan had been put in backwards (blowing into the case) so bypassing the heatsinks and everything. The factory lables were untampered with, so couldn't even blame a purple shirter for having a fiddle with the stock.
The psu killed a much loved AN7-guru mobo. I still grieve to this day :( .
