Jedi Knight...which order

If you think that Deus Ex looks "terrible" then you could be in for a shock when it comes to the early Dark Forces games - Deus Ex is vastly superior in the graphics (and gameplay/story for that matter) department.

I've fired up the first one for a short while, yes it does look bad but i'm hoping the gameplay will compensate. I'm not a massive SW fan but am looking forward to the story side of things.

I'll put in a vote that Jedi Academy actually has the best gameplay. The story is fairly poor, but it takes the elements of JO that were the most fun and then gives you more of them. JO took way too long to get into the sabre fighting. JO pretty much does nothing else from the get go. The only downside is that it does have an annoying habit of insta-killing you in the duels for no obvious reasosn.

^Exactly, JO starts incredibly slowly, you run around with level zapping baddies with the same gun on a bland, mundane level and it is highly repetitive/boring. JA on the other hand gets you a LS early doors and you can choose your upgrade path in terms of force powers. There's also some pretty epic fights when you return to the academy IIRC. Whereas JO has a couple of incredibly annoying platform sections.

I think if it wasn't for a half-decent storyline JO would be a lot less popular.

The levels without the lightsaber are still good - and it all adds to the "coolness" factor when you finally get it :)

I like them both equally, they both have their own strengths and weaknesses.
