my friend was having a sort out of her attic this morning and came accross a very nice Les Paul,

its by Jedson, which i have heard of, but never really payed attention too, if that makes sence.

its in very good condition, blonde with cream scratchplate and hardware.

it belongs too her father... so im not sur ehow old it is.

Could anybody shed a bit of light on this? history/playability etc etc...

Thanks guys n girls!
Sam

Jedson guitars:

Instruments previously produced in Japan from the late 1960s through the late 1970s.

The Jedson trademark appears on entry to student level solid body and semi-hollowbody guitars; some models with original design and some models based on classic American designs, (Source: Tony Bacon and Paul Day, The Guru´s Guitar Guide ).

Has it got a serial number or anything on it? :)

not sure as i dont have it, but i will find out for you :)

thanks for the info, i also read a few reviews on them saying that they compared it to a real gibson lp, and they couldnt tell the difference... i find this ahrd to beleive but u know, it could happen :P

either way its a nice find ! :)

In the early 70's I used to have a Jedson Telecaster and I loved it but I was only about 14 and didn't know a lot.
I then traded it in for a Hayman 3030 which was also a telecaster shape.

What really compares to a real gibson? hehe But it's a good find, and if the pickups are still in good working order and nothing has warped its a pretty sweet find!

But Yea I love when you find strange instruments! I found an acoustic a good while ago owned by my Bro up in the loft. He got it from a friend, who in turn had stolen it from his Dad. Turned out to be dated from 1969 and could fetch about £600. Not bad eh :D

In the early 70's Gibson poo'd their pants when a brand called TOKAI came on the market.
Their Les Paul copies were so good they were better than Gibsons at the time and anybody with one of those early TOKAIs has got a real steal.
TOKAI's are well sought after now because of the high standard they're made to.
