Jeff Minters SPACE GIRAFFE

And him and Giles have just trashed their 3rd dev kit too because there's too much going on!! :p

Awesome, Tempest 2000 is one of my favourite games in this sort of genre. Will definitely buy this if it turns up on MP.

I must be missing something. Everyone of his games I have played is nothing more than a psychedelic light show with hammering the fire button.
I fail to see why people get excited about every bit of pap he puts out and the camel/llama/sheep stuff is getting tired, it was never "funny" in the first place IMO.

You are missing something :) BUT - I know where you're coming from. I didn't get the Minter vibe for a long time. But when it clicks, they are really cool games. Simple elegant design. But I understand they're a kind of love/hate thing.

As for this - fan-bloomin-tastic! I don't know why they can't get the whole llamasoft back catalogue up there, but I'll settle for this. Looks good.

My fave's were Iridis Alpha (fantastic concept for a c64 game) and Ancipital. Sheep was good, and of course the old classic Gridrunner.

original llamatron on the ST was simply awesome, tense twitchy gameplay for a good 100 levels or so - quality stuff!!!

(samples made the game great too - as well as that friggin' droid that kept missing  )

Hehe
I was of a similar opinion, but I'm trying to get interested and can see why some people like it, I think his lightshow/music shooting stuff would be better suited to mad arm waving on the Wii.

Jeff Minter - Legend!

His games were / are always out on a limb (Hovver Bovver - a game based around mowing a lawn!!)

I always considered his games good 'for a quick blast' rather than a long drawn out learning process, you could just pick up and play.

I met him a few times in the early eighties and still have a box of Llamasoft merchandise (Posters / Tee Shirts / Games and copies of Zzap! 64 magazines all signed by him).
