Hi My first time here so please bear with me!
Just a question my recent upgrade which I understand is about as far as I can go on my motherboard (see below my system). I have just upgraded fom AMD AM2 64x 2 4400 to a second hand AMD AM2 64 x2 6000+ CPU with a Arctic freezer Rev 2 Cooling fan hoping to get some improvement in Windows 7 Performance score ( 4400 was 4.9 ten new 6000 still 4.9) Tried small increases overclocking in Bios but makes no difference. Previous owner of CPU ((Says _it was rated at 6.9 on my windows 7 home prem. ))And Im sure I believe..
Him Any suggestions anyone
My Setup--
Asus M2N-E SLI motherboard (I know its Getting on a biit)
3gb Ram
Windows 7 Pro
Nvidia Geforce 7800 GTX
PSU 500wat

3DMark 06 run on old and new setup hardly any improvement!!

First thing, don't trust the WEI. It's useless for most, if not everything. When you mention small overclock increase, how much?

Hi Vinni3
Thanks for reply
I first tried Auto A1 method and the took the CPU Frequency From 200 to 210 I understand WEI useless but the 3DMARK didn`t improve either..

The 7800 GTX will be the limiting factor runing 3DMark 06. As most of the score comes from the graphics card a small cpu increase won't make much of an impact.

What was the 3d mark score btw?

My X2 4600+ with HD 4890 got 8790.

Now the HD 4890 is 3-4 times faster than the 7800 GTX.

Also my old socket 939 - X2 3800+ with 7800 GTX @ 490 got 4581
