I had the above combo working on my 4.3 Nexus 7, then I power cycled tab when it ran out of juice. Now it's back on, I can't connect to any SSL site or service.
Presumably this is a security feature of Android to stop the local device proxying connections through unintended ports? If so, any way around it?
It effectively renders Adblock Plus useless, Google being an ad driven company have probably done this on purpose so not expecting much.
