so its been announced - i think he deserves it but in the back of my mind you always wonder if he will do something silly

anyone seen kahn this season - meant to have been quite poor - but he always is and then has a great tournament

half expecting kahn to retire now, not wanting to be second keeper.

it's great for jens though - he really has stepped up this season

People always say this but he hasn't cost Arsenal anything imo.

Great Keeper, he's been in great form this season and deserves it so much more than that Albino Gorilla

Kahn has a huge ego, but I think he'd take this one on the chin. Mainly because it's the WC in Germany, and winning the WC at home just before you retire would be a lot sweeter.

I think that Kahn has been a little bit too old for a few years now. Lehmann (sp?) has been really good for us this season as he's basically stayed put and not gone on his silly walks.

His distribution from pass backs/goal kicks is still completely and utterly poo pants though :p

Really? oh crumbs! I didn't realise that.

O/T Still it may look like we're going to ge the Le Mans' goal keeper Pele. If real madrid do have their clearout at the end of the season I would dearly love it if we get Casillas. My mate watches real madrid all the time (even though he's not Spanish or from Spain oddly enough..) and thinks he's technically excellent :)

Every time I've seen Casillas he's been very poor. Don't think he'd do well over here at all. He can't catch the ball for a start. He's a very lucky keeper in that he usually finds it dropping at his defence's feet than the attackers (unlike this weekend).

He's a decent stopper and his distribution is good I just don't think he'd do well here in the least bit.

Definitely agree. I thought Lehmann was a bad keeper til I saw his performances this season (why didn't he play like this last season?) and he definitely warrents the starting place in the German national team.

Yeah I actually said to the chaps at work a few weeks back "I never thought I'd say this, but Lehmann has probably been our best player this season". Some others have been doing very well of late (post ACoN) but I think he has been arguably the most consistent over the course of the season.

Kahn will have to be suffered a dramatic dip in form to have become worse than him, however.
