Hi all,
Just noticed that Jenson will be driving his mclaren through the streets of Manchester, August 29th, which is a bank holiday monday.
I'll be getting a ferry back from Belgium and the Spa grand prix on that date - can't have it all eh!! Would have really been nice to see him revving that V8 around an English city though ... thought I'd let any of you who live near / in Manchester or fancy making the trip to see it
Full Story from autosport:
Jenson Button will drive a McLaren Formula 1 car through the streets of Manchester later this month as part of a three-day festival in the British city.
The 2009 world champion's run will take place at 11am on Monday, August 29 from Albert square, which will also be the setting for an F1 fan zone run by team sponsor Vodafone, and through the Deansgate area.
"Driving an F1 car through Manchester is going to be a unique experience for me," Button said.
"There's a chance for the public to win some great prizes so I hope Manchester is going to be out in force and are looking forward to the bank holiday as much as I am."
Button's run will form part of three days of festivities in Manchester, which will include a go-kart track, F1 simulator and working pit garage.
