I Just had an email from Hugh bringing my attention to this collective funding website.

Their idea looks good and it is already an established business and for £80 pledged you get 10% off for life.

I have just started eating only organic and grass fed beef so this seemed quite a good deal.

What does the OCUK collective think?
Better than a bolt in the head at birth I suppose.

Not entirely sure I'd want to pledge some money for a product that I had no idea about the flavour of, good cause or not. But it would be very interesting to see what it tastes like.

Being a somewhat lazy swine this afternoon, is there any further reading on the company and their products? Ideally from someone impartial and not connected to them in any meaningful way?

buy some meat then decide. unless you buy meat online and only from them, I wouldn't bother. postage is expensive, so i much prefer places that sale all meats and have a larger than normal range of cuts.

On a 10Kilo box, 10% doesn't even cover postage and you don't get a choice of cuts.

I am going to ask them what actually makes up say a 10kg box. I do eat the cheaper cuts a lot along with the usual Sirloin and Rump.

Edit: I am in no way connected to this project I just saw it and decided to pledge.

It's good to see someone giving a life/purpose to animals that would otherwise be disposed of. That said it's not something I'd fund or likely buy mail order.

Similar to Glaucus I'd rather go to my local butchers for meat, they do some great veal chops.
