Jerusalem - 3 to 4 days to see sights - do's dont's?

Hi all

Looking at a few weeks on garden leave so thinking about doing the above(been high on my to do list for a while) it would be me and quite spiritual uncle who's early 70's but pretty fit

Mrs not keen but happy for me to do it

Planning on popping to the local Thomas Cook and getting some costs/dates

Would you book a tour of the sights over here or when you get there? Would want to get to the bulk of the religious sites

Price seems to be the issue now

Went to local travel agent and was quoted £1850 each for return flights from Leeds and 4 nights b and b over there not including transfer

Any tips on more cost effective ways of doing this?

Got an easy jet package flight and 4 night accommodation for £600 flying from Manchester
