I don't know if you watched the race but she was racing against specialists in that event including an Olympic Champion and a World Silver Medalist yet didn't look out of place at all. It's possible she wouldn't have broken her own record if there were 10 hurdles but she was absolutely flying there.
As for Jess Ennis being too fat, that's just daft. Medals in her event are awarded for getting the highest points total, if she can get more points than her rivals then what she looks like is an irrelevance.
I believe the comment was about being over weight and could be better with less lean mass.
The media have taken this as 'she's too fat' and the world is going on about fat.
It's the throwing events that tend to be her weakness so having a bit more muscle is probably a good thing I guess. As her recent events show if she has put on a bit more muscle recently it certainly hasn't hurt her running events.
It doesn't seem to have affected her much either way, she's just set a new PB total in Gotzis with two new PBs in individual events and matching another.
