Just after a little advice, found a perfect condition Jianshe 125 6b for dirt cheap.
After a little research, they are basically Yamaha ybr's with different branding?
Having had a Chinese bike in the garage (my mrs learner) I would avoid. The thing is, they may look similar and even be built under license but the quality of the parts will be significantly inferior. We had a Huonio HN120 which is basically a CG125 motor in a CM125 frame. The bolts that held things together were made of cheese and just sheared off when undone. All the alloy corroded and the steel went rusty within months of it being bought. It vibrated like mad and bits fell off as it was being ridden.
I'd rather have a 15 year old Yamaha than a 2 year old Chinese bike.
I have a Sinnis Stealth 125cc.
No problems at all with it. Build quality is fine.
Was talking to the local CBT instructor a year or so ago. He wouldn't have looked at Chinese stuff 10 years ago. 5 years ago they started getting better. Now he's using them for training.
And as for not Jap build quality. Most small bikes are made in Taiwan and China.
You just have to remember to look after it. The same as any other bike.
