Jimmy Carr - Gagging Order

I'm seeing the show on the 1st May at the GLive in Guildford with my girlfriend. I'm a big Jimmy Carr fan: I've seen his last two tours live (even managed to meet him and get a poster signed at the latter show) and have them all on DVD. Should be good.
 
I have to say I was very unimpressed with Frankie Boyle when I went to see him. His warm up ended up being funnier.
 
Saw him live on someone elses recommendation once and he was awful. He's good on panel shows where he has someone to talk to but 2 hours of one liners is just painful.

I'd like to see Sean Lock sometime, he is funny.

He is hilarious, however I can see why some people don't "get" his humour. Very dark, and quite Scottish I would say.
 
Saw Jimmy Carr last week at the Altitude comedy festival, was pretty funny but Frankie Boyle had me in tears throughout. I'm a bad man for laughing at some of his material...
 
I saw him in Glasgow a few years back, was really good.

Seeing Kevin Bridges in September. I think he's the best famous comedian around at the minute. He got my girlfriend a birthday card, but I still had to pay £30 a ticket. :(
 
Seen every tour of the last 5 years and won't miss this one. I've rarely taken a liking to a comedian as I have to him.
 
Some of you do realise that Frankie started by writing jokes for Jimmy right? He's a very funny man but he's just exploiting what makes him money at the moment.
 
Why buy tickets to a comedian if you know what he's like?

You can't be offended by Jimmy Carr, honestly that women sounds stupid, you go to a comedy show, especially Jimmy Carr's shows knowning full well to expect rape, pedo, disabled jokes.

Jimmy Carr and Frankie Boyle are in my "make me laugh sometimes" section, I like Rhod Gilbert and Stewart Francis on the other hand i love.
 
With Jimmy Carr I think it's reasonably apparent he doesn't believe what he's saying, and he's putting on a persona for comic effect. He's clearly not the lazy inept insensitive misogynist that he portrays in his jokes.

Frankie Boyle on the other hand does most of the same stuff, with the perversion and so forth, but some of his hatred towards the Queen or the Tories or the English and so on shines through as something he at least has some belief in.

Jimmy Carr I think is a far better comedian than Frankie Boyle. Frankie I think gave up some time ago and found out that he could put just a little bit of effort in to find the most offensive jokes and that would be enough to carry his performance regardless of the rest.

At the moment Rhod Gilbert is probably my favourite.
 
Is someone who says "Say what you like about those servicemen amputees from Iraq and Afghanistan but we're going to have a ****ing good Paralympic team in 2012" remotely funny.

Also one who takes the **** out of people with special needs. No he ain't funny
 
Never really been the biggest fan of Jimmy Carr. I went to see Reginald D Hunter in Feb which was good. Also watched Lee Mack's Going out on netflix the other day. I was laughing hard all the way through.

Yeah I'm pretty sure you're a fool for finding that offensive.

Considering he's worked with wounded soldiers and they all found it funny.
 
Seen Jimmy twice now, every show is different, he actually tailors the show to the location.

Went to see him in St Albans (a very posh city) and he asked if the audience had any problems they wanted to talk about.

Someone stuck their hand up and said "Thay are no more swans at the local pond". Jimmy then proceeded into a 10 minute rant about how posh the area was and the worst thing 500+ people could come up with was about Swans.

Really quick witted and instantly responded to hecklers.
