Hi guys, i am getting jittery graphics but only when i play battlefield 3, never happened on a "previous" install, which was completely removed when i done a clean install of my OS but now i have installed the game from Origin its not running correctly.

It seems to jitter the most when i pan side to side, but it does do it through out game play in general.

I have tried all the preset graphics option but with no success, the puzzling thing is im getting amazing fps well over 70 on every preset even when it jitters.

here is my spec if it helps

i7-2600k 3.4 @ 4.0
16gb Corsair Vengence @ 1600
CF 6870s @ stock (latest drivers)
50" LG plasma
the game is installed on a OCZ Agility 3 ssd

I tried the following and it fixed jittering/stuttering in bf3.

go to ur bf3 installation folder. there should be a file called user.cfg. if not create one using notepad. then post the 2 commands below in the file and save.

renderdevice.forcerenderaheadlimit 1
renderdevice.triplebufferingenable 0

screen tearing happens when your fps is higher than the refresh rate of the display and you pan left or right, part of the image is drawn in one position and the rest in drawn in another.

you can limit your fps with msi afterburner like this:

-settings
1) enable OSD (don't have to set anything to display on screen)
2) Create a keyboard shortcut to OSD
3) Restart afterburner
4) Running OSD will put an app called "riva tuner" in your system tray, its the afterburner icon but has a purple 60 on it
5) Open riva tuner, go in options (click on the wrench) , enable frame rate limiter at [refresh rate]

However, since you did a clean install, it may also be a driver issue. Were you on the latest before? And you've definitely installed CAPs or w/e it's called too? *waits for amd user to chime in*

Cheers guys, i tried all your suggestion but they dont seem to work for me, i think im going to sack these cards off and just get one decent single card, im certain its CF doing it. I tried playing with just on 6870 but they aint too clever on their own.

Hi I had jurky movement with 680sli at a constant 60 fps.

Limiting the fps to 59 seemed to have cured my problems with Vsync off.

user config settings as below

WorldRender.SpotLightShadowmapResolution 256
RenderDevice.TrippleBufferingEnable 1
RenderDevice.ForceRenderAheadLimit 1
Render.DrawFps 1
Render.PerfOverlayEnable 1
Render.PerfOverlayVisible 1
Render.DrawScreenInfo 1
gametime.maxvariablefps 59
WorldRender.FxaaEnable 1

hi guys thanks for the help but i sacked those cards off and put a msi 7950 in today, only ordered it yesterday morning, gotta love OCUK!!!! anyway top and bottom of it is bf3 runs sweet as a nut with no jitters yahoooo
