JMicron and Intel Matrix Storage Manager. Clash? Please help

Hi,
My Motherboard is an ASUS P6T SE and it has 6 SATA ports.

It appears as though there are 2 separate controllers for these ports.
1) Intel Matrix Storage Manager
2) JMicron jmb36x raidtool

I run 3 x RAID1 sets from the 6 ports and if ever there are inconsistencies then the Intel Matrix Storage Manager jumps into life and repairs them for me.

What I want to know is do I need to install the JMicron driver?
Is it indeed doing the same job as the Intel Matrix Storage Manager?
Are they likely to clash?

Is the JMicron driver anything to do with the normal IDE (40/80pin ribbon connector)?
I have a single DVD Drive connected to the IDE ribbon connector.

The reason I ask all of these questions is that I have had some trouble recently with the RAID set up.

All the internal SATA ports are on the Intel controller on that board. The JMicron controller drives the eSATA port and the IDE port, unless you use the eSATA port there's probably no need for the JMicron driver (the IDE port will be handled by the built in ATAPI driver).

That would suggest that the two shouldn't really conflict then.

I have the Gigabyte board with x10 Sata slots (six white, four blue coloured) , and I have had nightmareish issues with the four blue ports.

With Windows 7 Pro 64, the drives would be inaccessible after resuming from sleep, or be corrupted (apparently) and needs a scandisk to fix...just problems time and again with them.

When I found the JMicron drivers and installed them from the JMicron website I haven't had a problem since.

That wasn't using anything fancy like RAID, just standard connections.
 
I see there are 2 drivers on the JMicron website for Windows 7 64 bit.

1) Driver would get eSATA setting from BIOS/Option Rom
2) Driver would report all Device connected as Removable Device

Which is the one which is supplied on the DVD with my Motherboard (I have investigated but can't determine it)?
