Ok, im applying for an apprentice ship as a vehicle technician. Just writing parts of the application form at the moment but wanted to ask your opinions.

Im currently working at a super market as a typical shelf stacker basically. However, from october 07 to january 08 i was working as a supervisor, incharge of the warehouse and various stock related stuff. I stopped doing it because i was paid for 38 hours but was working 45+ a week, as the job included a lot of unpaid overtime and i eventually got sick of it.

Should i include this in my application form? It gives me the oppotunity to tell them about a role with more responsibility, experience of leading members of a team etc etc.

The only reason i thought about not putting it in, as i thought it may look bad that i started a role but stopped doing it. Does it seem like i either couldnt be bothered or just didnt have what it took?

Thanks

Definitely include it. It's experience which shows key skills, as you mentioned, and may be what gives you an edge over someone else. It shows initiative that you've actually done something with your time working at the supermarket rather than just stacking shelves for a year.

I'd put it down, people move on and want more from life which is clearly what you are doing. If they ask just say you felt it was time to move on to something more challenging and something you'd enjoy.
