Job applications and relocating

Hey,

I'm currently south west based, but the vast majority of the jobs which I am applying for are in London.

Now obviously I'm willing to relocate otherwise I wouldn't be applying for the job, but would it be worth stating in my cover letter that relocation is not a problem. The problem is most of the jobs that I am applying for are short term contracts (typically 3-6 months) and I can imagine employers just binning my application upon seeing my address and the potential hassle involed to relocate on possibly a short term basis.

Perhaps I should even leave my address off the CV and cover letter?

Thanks

The fact that you are applying should show them you are willing to move.
If some of them are short contracts then they probably want people who can start ASAP, are you in a position already or out of work?

Does your application state that you are ok to start immediately?
It might be worth telling them that you can get accomodation quickly enough, that might be the one factor they are considering.

Nope I haven't explicitly said I would be ready to start immediately. Probably should have though about putting that on there before. I'll stick my cover letter in here if you don't mind looking and see what you think

For the attention of: XXXXXXXXX

Dear XXXX,

Having seen your advertisement for an XXXXXXXXXXXX, I am writing to outline my strong academic background and invaluable experience in television production. I believe I possess the skills, qualifications, experience and most importantly enthusiasm necessary to make a very significant contribution to your company.

I graduated in 2009 with a First Class BSc (Hons) in Film Production Technology and subsequently embarked on a four month Internship with BTV Mongolia, a national news broadcasting network where I acquired invaluable experience in administration, production and post-production. This included proofing, editing and approving English language scripts, operating camera equipment in studios and on location and preparing for broadcasts. I was also a TV Presenter on the nightly “B-Spot” news show requiring me to write and deliver news content clearly, confidently and articulately.

For nearly four years now I have also worked as a Cameraman and Editor in a freelance capacity, working on a variety of projects for clients including Autosports International and DSEi. This required me to prepare my own shooting kit, produce schedules and edit and encode videos using software such as Avid and Premier Pro.

I am now looking for a challenging new position and I am confident I would be an asset to your company. My key qualities include my willingness and ability of on the job learning and my proven ability to rapidly familiarise myself with new technologies. I have excellent organisational skills and can work effectively independently and as part of a team to ensure that assigned projects are completed within challenging timeframes.

I am available for an immediate start. Please do not hesitate to call me on £$$%£%$ so we can arrange an interview to discuss my application in greater depth. I look forward to hearing from you.

Yours faithfully,

On my CV I have 'Availability' under name and address. Might be worth adding on yours :)

are the short term contracts as a contractor or as a temp employee?

that looks like a good cover letter tbh, though that last line seems a little forceful for me.
