Applied for a new job but I can't work out if I should take it if I get or stay where I am.
Current job has just gave me a promotion that setup as a training role where it has 3 stages I need to reach with a pay rise on each. They are keen to develop me and they have shown this already in the past 2 years I have worked with them. It's a very cushy job that's slowly progressing me to more difficult and important task. But they are really doing it slowly and looking after me so I don't fail. Staff are nice and I'm left alone to do my own workload. Negative of the job is that I don't really have anyone to bounce ideas or as for support in the field I'm working in.
Job I applied for starts on the salary that my training role ends at but then I'm expected to hit the ground running and know a lot already and be prepared to do task that I am aiming to do once I've been trained. Biggest positive is they have a proper team that I can ask for advice and if I stick with the job for a couple years I'll have the experience to go anywhere.
Job 2 sounds better for my career but my current job makes me happy even though the pay is quite poor, but it could also boost my career but will take longer, but I am being looked after.
