Hi guys,

I have been in a new job for the last 4 months and I am really not enjoying it, It wasn't what I was sold in the original interview. I have recently had an interview for a job in the city, the job seems really good and something I would enjoy doing and they have offered me a 2nd interview, at a particular time/date that cannot be changed and is within work hours.

Now the problem is my father has been really ill lately and I have had to take quite a lot of days of including all my annual leave and various exceptional circumstances/Sick days, taking anymore time off ill really will reflect badly on me, im still under probation.

What should I do?

If you get the new job what's the problem if it reflects badly on you at your old place?

Chances are management would think you you were pulling a fast one anyway.

Yes it's a gamble, but if you don't try you'll always wonder what if....

dont think its that Anti. I think he's saying that if he gambles...he might end up with none!

Hard decision, id stick with what ive got. Saftey first.

Book it as a medical appointment and be apologetic, make up the extra hours at the end of each day for a bit?

How do you know the interview can't be rearranged to early morning or after work? Have you tried explaining to the new company that you simply can't take time of for the interview (don't necessarily say why at this stage). If they are serious about you then they may consider rearranging. Ask and see (if you haven't of course).

Forgot I made this thread!

I explained to the recruitment agency I quite simply cannot make the interview during work hours. After a lot of "favours" he apparently pulled to do it, he has got me an interview at 6:30pm.

Happy days all around. Now time to **** myself as the next stage of the interview consists of 6 people on the panel.
