Hey guys, I just received some good news.
I've got a job interview tomorrow at an engineering firm working as a trainee fabricator. Now as i've always worked in I.T this is a lot different to what im use to. I just feel its time for a change, I need a new challenge. i've worked with computers for far too long now and i find the novelty is just wearing off. i've realised theres more to life than being stuck behind a computer all day.
The thing is im sure im going to be asked why i want to move from I.T into engineering and this is part i come unstuck. I dont want to come across too negative when asked why i want to move from I.T but at the same time i dont want to sound arrogant as if i know everything there is to know. some interviewers think I.T is good money and i wouldnt like engineering, how would they know if i've never been given the chance lol.
I'm just looking for some advice on what the best thing to say is as i really want this job
Its at 11am tomorrow, im going to be shown around the workshop and see some of the CNC machines and what i'd be doing.
Has anyone got any good quistions i could put on the employer ?
Also is it worth going in a suit, the last time i went around a workshop i was getting looks off the other workers like i was the VAT man lol
Has anyone else found it hard when changing careers ?
