Job Problem

The way I see it, work is merely a device for earning money. As soon as I get in from work my interest in it is concluded. It has no bearing on my personal life.

I'd go with the one that is most practical, not just because you enjoy it.

Thought about asking your old place for a pay rise (or "Relocation Package") so you can afford something closer? They can only say no and if the only issue is the commute then it seems like an obvious solution.

If you own your current home then you could always rent it out and rent another property yourself somewhere closer. Then use any pay rise to make the shortfall if there is any. This gives the option of going back "home" if you want.

House share?

I'd rather have my own place. House share's don't really appeal to me.

I'm only 22, so don't have a house! :D

I live at home with my parents.

I just stopped commuting for 2 years - and I would never choose to back to it. Wow - that was a bad time. I value my time and my relationship too much, not to mention my health. I'd get home and just eat/drink/sleep - now I get home and... eat/drink/sleep - and watch TV.

If you go back it won't work out.
Your employer will always wonder if you are going to leave again having already done so already, or you may get treated badly as they will think you are desperate to stay there.

As before, never go back.

Just because your boss is a fool with AD, dont leave a job you enjoy.

Ignore it (as much as you can) let it pass, and stay happy. If your job is now involved in fixing your boss's muck-ups, then one would imagine that a quiet word with said 4 top company people to recommend that aforementioned boss loses Domain Admin rights, might be the way forward ;)

Him and the CEO are best buds.

Option C

Get another job.

There arn't many IT jobs around West Sussex (or at least within a decent driving distance)

They are mostly in London or further north and i don't want to move closer to work as that means i'm further away from my GF.

If i didn't have the GF i would have moved closer to my old workplace as one of my work colleagues said he was happy for me to move in with him.

In a couple of years time she'll have dumped you for somebody more successful / bigger wang (delete as appropriate) and your life will still suck.

Negotiate the return on your terms - explaining that the commute was too much for your last time. Suggest 2 days working from home or some assistance with relocation.
