Job problems...advice needed

My boss has decided that he does not want me to work mt current shift patern which a Nine day fortnight from 2pm-10.30pm with half an hour break and every other Friday off.

He is trying to get me to change to a 38.75 week with 45 min break a day doing a ten day fortnight which I dont want to do.

I have been doing the same job for a year with there being no problem until now. I am so far the only one on my shift being told to do this.

What can I do?. Where do I stand?.

If there are other people who have been working on the shift for less amount of time, maybe you'd be best having a chat with him. Perhaps tell him how you've been settled in to this shift for a year now, and that you think it would be fairer with someone who hasn't had a year to arrange their lives around the shift. I dunno your boss, but (s)he might be a reasonable person, so worth a try even if it fails
