Hi all, I started a new job 4weeks ago and hate it, Its boring and not fulfilling in anyway, The people are also very annoying and talk about there bed life all day and give me sexual advice when my bed dept is fine....lol

My old job was tech support and it killed my brain and i wanted to leave there and was offered this job which pays a lot more then the tech support job did. But at the moment i feel like i'm just milking the company as i sit and surf OCuk all day :o

Should I stay until the manager notices that i do nothing all day or start looking for something else?

Yeah you might be less bored if you do some work... if you have nothing to do, tell your manager. I'm sure if they took you on they must have something for you to do.

Failing that, if you really don't like it there then yes, get another job.

You work in IT.
You arnt supposed to do anything and you are supposed to be bored

Maybe he works for Freedom2Surf which would explain why getting them to reply to emails or do anything is like getting blood out of a stone

I was hired to implement a new booking system - Which took all of 2 days!

So now my manager does not know what to do with me and leaves me sat in the office.

Why not ask him to give you some work?... I hate it when I have nothing to do at work. Time goes so slowly.

I have hinted and gone out of my way to find other jobs to do but then someone will moan about me taking over there work and them noting having anything to do, I really don't understand why they hired me?

Dont worry about it. Its better to be under worked then over worked.

Go and find an online game and get paid for doing nothing :D

Its only boring if you let it be or if you have to do work that you cant avoid

This might just be me thinking as a lazy teenager but how can you possibly complain about getting paid for practically browsing websites all day?

I'd be making the most of it.

Because you try doing it for 42hours aday while surrounded by filthy minding old fat people who disgust you - this is not OTT!

It is nice to be paid to do nothing but its within 4walls with horrid people.

I'm 22 and share nothing in common with the people here!

Having worked with f2s for 6 months in tech support (then been made redundant when they moved offices) i can assure you it's not from being lazy. I worked sooo hard at that job and so did everyone there, just a case of too much to do with the number of staff.

I would use my initiative and look to see if you can suggest any improvements around the place. For example, go to your boss and say that you've noticed that the filing system is inefficient and needs updating. Suggest how this would be done and then get him to let you do it.

You will then be smelling of roses and be the star employee and before you konw it, you'll be 50, smelling of farts and laughing at new guy who's just joined with nothing to do!
