Job question..

I've applied for a job had my interview and on the website it says under Applicant Status = On-hold for Pre-appointment checks. I was just wondering is this a good thing?The job is Admin for the goverment. Any help would be great!

probably a good thing. they wouldnt bother running checks unless they were seriously considering appointing you.

I agree, it sounds more positive than it does negative.

It's the first time I've heard of an applicant being able to track their status via a website... for all the interviews I've had, this would have entailed a phone call to the HR dept, and then trying to squeeze bits of info from the person spoken to.

What sort of organisation was the job for?

The job was for Revenues and Customs, its only an admin role but its better than what ive done in the past believe me.
Anyway went on the website, filled out an application form, then did a multiple choice test online and went to the interview. The website updated as I went through each stage and now has the message i poseted earlier. I really hope i get it!
