Jobs Really is Ill!

Hardly surprising really, but they (he) shouldn't have said anything.

I think they have done right announcing this. Everytime there is speculation about his cancer returning the apple shares nosedive. At least this way everyone knows what the issue is, its not life threatening, and should stop the silly share antics.

What kind of CEO of international power player would go on admitting something like hormone imbalance to "dear community"?

bah, who wants to be that with every illness comes shortly after they release more apple stock then all the directors and jobs buy a load of shares after it drops, then he gets healthy again and they sell when its high :p

Because the rumour mill is probably more damaging in terms of share price etc. Especially in these times, the incertainty isnt good for the share deals. At least now people know the picture.

What dont you understand? Surely him being open and telling people exactly how it is is better than people just making their own minds up.

I think it's the right call, as it sets the record straight as all the recent rumours of him having a heart attack, being on his death bed etc are all being investigated to see if it was an attempt to manipulate Apples share prices.

The state of Steve Job’s health shouldn't cast a shadow on Macworld now and detract from Phil Schiller's keynote, all the questions/speculations have been firmly put to bed.

I'd probably do the same if I kept coming across articles about my own so-called death. Wasn't his obituary mistakenly published recently? The whole thing sucks.

So how does the health of one man, who doesn't actually design and build apple products all on his lonesome, affect share value.
How narrow-minded are people? You think Apple will fold if he dies?
Apple grew after he left, then he came back and it continued to grow. He is to apple what Gates is to Microshaft, but the companys i'm sure will still be there when their current respective CEO's are gone.

Err.. it's not a matter of going under - just the degree of success. He's a strong celebrity leader who is known to micro-manage the development of hit products. Unsurprisingly his presence is considered a good thing.

p.s. Don't say Microshaft - it makes you look like an idiot.
