Maybe its just me, but i never have any success getting contract roles through Jobserve.

However when applying through CWjobs i sometimes get a call back within minutes.

Is it just me, or is CWjobs just better ?

The only time I used a job site to get a role I used CWJobs plus a couple of others and it came up trumps over everyone else

I've only ever used Jobserve, I got shed loads of phone calls once my I'd applied for a few jobs. This was around 6 years ago though so I guess things change.

Will probably be using both in the new year!

CWJobs have horrifically bad search interface, I just don't have time and patience to waste my time with it. Jobserve runs around it in circles, you can choose multiple salary ranges and locations, prep a long line of ((this OR that) AND NOT (rubbish_isps OR anything_to_do_with_financial_sector OR once_again_no_financial_sector OR I_mean_it_no_hedge_funds_either OR some_java_rubbish OR non_existant_PR_keyword OR newspeak_for_glorified_salesman) etc and it's all in front of you in seconds.

One thing I would suggest to everyone looking for a job though - make yourself simple spreadsheet with name of the agent, name of agency and tick box "replied". Tick every time you receive phone call or reply. Mark in red if no one comes back to you. After a week or two you will be able to weed out agencies that advertise make believe jobs "off the wall".

meh I like CWJobs as I can just put "devon" in the location box and see the results, there never that many jobs down here anyway so works for me :)

Guessing if you put london or something in you get rather a few more results :)

Yeah what is with that anyway ?

I've put my CV in for a few roles that you'd think the job spec was written from my CV and heard nothing back. I've also phoned a few up, using the number listed in the job ad, and the people at the agency sounded more than a bit snotty that i'd acutally waste their time by making them pick up the phone.

Meh, some agencies are better than others....
