#NUFC can confirm that Joe Kinnear has been appointed as the Club's new Director of Football on three-year deal

Balls

Really not looking forward to how next season is going to unfold. He's already lost the respect of the players. And who do we expect to sign sending that numpty to negotiate a contract with them?

I wish it was possible to erase certain parts of my memory. I'd happily remove all feelings towards Newcastle and pick a new team to support.

Quite easily the most frustrating team to support in the English divisions.

I just hope there are 3 worse clubs than us next season, otherwise it's championship again. But this time I can see an even bigger mass exodus.

Football has moved on so much since Kinnear's days, and even then he wasn't even a brilliant manager, so I have no idea what he is going to bring to the club.

Just finished reading an article where someone has corrected all his mistakes in the interview, quite shocking that he states so many facts about himself which are incorrect:

"Never been sacked" - Luton sacked him
"Bought Krul" - Krul had his first game before Kinnear even arrived
"400 games for Tottenham" - 193 I believe.
"I thought I'd done an excellent job there" - 19% win ratio in time at Newcastle
"and no way would we have gone down" - Would have done with his points to game ratio
"been manager of the year three times" - Just once actually
"look when you're at Wimbledon, there ain't no budget, you find the players yourself - there aint' no budget" - Signed John Hartson for £7.5m in 1999

The Toon roller-coaster continues...

The club is crumbling again, after the 2011/12 season when we thought things were looking up and we were back to our old ways. It seems the Championship is upon us again.

I hope Pardew sticks his foot up Kinnear's ****. Pards has done more in 1 season than Kinnear has done in his lifetime. Who thought it would be a good idea to have Kinnear calling all the shots?

He's already called off the signing of Brazilian centre back Douglas (on a free), because he doesn't want to. I bet he's never seen him play before!!!!

Right I've decided, I refuse to watch any Newcastle games next season.

Instead I will be rooting for Swansea (underdogs, play nice football, I really like Laudrup) and Chelsea (want them to win the league, as Mourinho is very likeable)

I'm absolutely furious, is Ashley on a vendetta to completely ruin the club? Yeh, ok we had a bad season last year, but the year before was very good. Pardew is a good manager, he doesn't become a bad one overnight, there is no need to appointment this **** to come in and disrupt everything.

Carr is easily one of the best scouts out there, has brought in some top quality players with very limited resources. Yet he is on the verge of walking, and who would blame him? We are going to be left with no manager, no chief scout and Kinnear calling the shots at the helm.

Not looking forward to the new season at all.

Rumours are probably just that but its being said today they are renaming Shearers (the bar attached to the ground) and that apparently Carr is on the verge.

Probably just rumours but there is a lot of discontent at the moment :p

I think if that happened, riots would start. And I for one (never been into that kind of thing ever) would be first in line.

If Carr does leave, the fans need to do something about it. Stop giving Ashley money. If no one turns up to the ground then what chance does he have of surviving.

Yes I know it's a catch 22 situation, but the club is going down the pan anyway, why go and pay to watch it do so?

However I would be happy with the sales of Guti and Obertan if better players can be found. My biggest pet hate is Pardew's insisting that Guti has to be on the pitch at all times!

I fully agree, Jonas shouldn't have played many games last season. The only positive for him, is that he does what he is told. A true professional.

When the likes of Ben Arfa, Marveaux etc, won't listen to Pards and want to play the game they want to. Which truth be told, is 10x better than Jonas, but they leave us short defensively.

well to be fair if Ben Arfa had Jonas mentality he would not be at Newcastle simple as that. He could play for any of the tops teams

I fully agree, and it's been Pardew's problem all last season. The negative and defensive attitude he has instilled on the players was one of the main causes to our poor season.

We have Carr finding these powerful, exciting attacking players (Cisse, Gouffran, Sissoko etc.) and Pardew doesn't use that style of play. He's very much old fashioned in his ways.

If we did play in a formation/style to our best players skills, then we would be a force to be reckoned with. I watched some of the 12/13 season footage from last year. Our biggest miss from many games was Coloccini. It's been excellent news that he is staying for another season. I hope he stays fit all next season.

What about the part where he says he's won everything as a football player...

I don't even want to begin... :(

Pards has spoken for the first time and he basically took a few shots at Joe and that he's only there to deal with a list him and Carr make up and to try and sweet talk Mike into investment.

They are never going to get on.

Carr and Pards have found some gems and I can see Kinnear just shoving their suggestions up their **** and he will pick his own players...

Why is there even the need for him? If Carr has found someone and Pards is happy, then let him take it to the board for approval!

We've already seen that Kinnear is not there to make a case for Pardew. He wants to put his own stamp on things.

We would have been in a much stronger position had we signed Douglas on a free like we were just about ready to, then sell Williamson and make a little cash. But no, Kinnear comes in and says No! Serious? The man is clueless and gets no respect from footballers or other teams.
