Anyone here with experience of this paint? We're covering freshly plastered walls and will most likely be going for a brilliant white.

Does acrylic hold any benefit over the standard matt washable?

Yes, far more durable, washable and doesn't show rub marks if you brush past it. I found Covaplus when painted looked great but as soon as you rubbed past it if left a sheen. So on a stair case it very quickly looked as if it was marked, even though it wasn't. Also, you will find that if there is a mark on the wall and you try and rub it off, some of the paint will come too. With durable you can pretty much scrub it. Johnstones also have a new cleanable matt too https://www.johnstonestrade.com/product/cleanable-matt But I haven't tried it so sticking with the Arcyllic matt.

Just what I wanted to hear thanks. It's going down our staircase and throughout our living room so none marking is exactly what I wanted.

Yep, great stuff and it's all I use. It goes on the wall so nicely. I've painted most of the house with it and I have a painter doing the kitchen this week, I asked him what he wanted me to buy him and he also recommended it.

It's also far cheaper than Dulux trade. I bought 5l of this at the weekend for about £33 mixed to any colour, they have some kind of bonanza promotion at the moment.

I got 5l of white for the ceiling, 5l of colour, 2.5l of satin for the skirting and architraves (the painter asked for water based) and 1l of bullseye 123 primer for £78.

It was a case of this or the dulux trade paint which we've already done throughout upstairs. The price difference is what put me off the johnstone, if it's so cheap then why is it so good? So I'm chuffed you guys give positive feedback.

Where did you purchase all that from?

I get mine from the Paint Shed, they will mix any colour even if another brand but in their paint. Also, I have dealt with Johnstone customer service and they are very good.

Oh I see Johnstone also do an Endura Super Durable, which apparently is even harder wearing than the acrylic!

There is a Johnstone's paint centre near me, they are also incredibly helpful. I charmed the lady at the weekend and she gave me a further discount without asking for one :D They will match any colour you ask for (including farrow and ball) althought they gave up with one shade of green I asked them to do as they couldn't get it right. You can even call them, pay over the phone and they will deliver.

Try it, I thought the same. You'll never use anything else.

Ordered some brilliant white for the whole of downstairs. Now to pick a green for the dreaded 'feature' wall. The gf wants a dark regal green but I want a more funky lime colour. Choices!

Don't bother doing the ceilings in acrylic matt though. Just stick to covaplus for that.

Yes that's what I bought actually. They tried to sell me 20l in a giant oil drum type container for the same price but I'd never have got through it.

Just don't expect it to actually look like the F&B paint once it's on the wall they don't use the same pigments so it looses a lot of the magic. Good stuff but if you paint the F&B tester fall in love and then do the wall with the copied paint you will be disappointed.
