Joining audio and video - Or, downloading a single stream from Youtube

Using Fastesttube in Firefox, I downloaded the Royal Wedding video from the official Youtube channel yesterday only to find it had no audio. I then used a different plugin in Chrome and the same happened.

Now I've installed Jdownloader and I see from the breakdown that there's one audio stream for all the different resolutions of the video so I'm currently grabbing that.

Is there a simple way for me to combine these two streams, audio and video?

Alternatively can someone tell me how to download the whole thing with audio and video combined? Just the video stream is huge at over 4Gb so it's not a simple thing to experiment hence why I want a good reliable way to do this. Mrs. Feek is nagging me and that's not good.

You can just use a site such as http://keepvid.com/ to get a link to download the whole thing as is.

For that video the highest quality 720p download is http://bit.ly/kDwImi

Nope, I can tell from the filesize that it's only giving me the video, no audio.

That is odd, I get the sound. Where is the vid.? I can get it for you, then get it to you somehow.

It's this one in 720p. If you can get it down with audio then that'd be great. I can get others, this is the only one I've had problems with.

with out being able to test this is what i would do. for work i constantly use http://clipgrab.de/en which is great. allows a lot of options and is simple and easy. If you then only have both video and audio you can combine them with this http://homepage.mac.com/major4/ and export to all manor of video types. another good program to have up your sleeve is mpeg streamclip. does a lot of stuff

It definitely has both audio and video via Keepvid. It downloads the proper thing untouched from YT, tested myself.

try jdownloader, start the app then copy the youtube link and it will come up with the mp4 files of the different res

i use it for all youtube videos and i get the 720p/1080p with sound

right click on the 720p link and click on continue with selected

I did exactly that before and I ended up with a 4.4gb file with no audio, nothing I tried produced any audio and VLC didn't even say it had audio within the file.

I'm running it yet again right now.

I have to say that I have a natural aversion to OS X apps that have this in the corner though, it's not right!

wierd this...... downloaded no sound in vlc or quicktime, but media info on vlc does report an audio track :confused:

1.8 Gig wow, well when I have it & if the sound is there with the vid. I will tell you. Then we can figure out how to get it to you, http://www.youtube.com/theroyalchannel if any wants to see the wed. videos. It has no option to download in 720, so sorry about that. That is strange, that the file is not complete for you.

The file is bigger than that, the one I got is 4.4Gb, not 1.8Gb. I'm not interested in a smaller version.
