"Joker" boards train in Japan, sprays acid and stabs 17

A man dressed as The Joker has boarded a subway in Japan, sprayed hydrochloric acid at passengers and then stabbed a large number of them (17 it seems) before setting the train on fire. What in holy hell? That's some rampage. Not many details as yet, and the Grauniad is the only one I've seen covering it (it popped up on Apple news, so I went digging for a source for here).
