I haven't a clue what to look for. I currently "own" a ... well it doesn't really matter what I have, but it's a mk2 leon fr tdi - seemed like a good idea at the time and I've enjoyed it immensely but the crashy ride is annoying to passengers (but I don't really care)
Point is - I'm currently paying for it and may be able to walk away early.
What can I get for £6-7k?
Doesn't have to be new, obviously. Would like it to be at least the size of an A3. More loadspace is better - can I get a something bmw touring for anywhere near that amount without it being a heap.
Maybe an estate of some kind - biggish boot/loadspace is important.
Doesn't have to be super hooneriffic, but I currently have approx 170 horseies to play with and it's plenty for me. I used to have about 75 and I don't want to go back to that.
Overtaking safely and quickly's quite important to me - I'm not the most patient of drivers when I'm following some leper doing 45-55 mph.
Something that doesn't cost the earth to get serviced/fixed or won't need lots of work doing on it soon would be great. Reliable too is nice (important) it'll occasionally be used to get to places - and I'd rather it didn't fall apart on the way.
It can be as mundane as you like for day to day driving. As much as I like giving it some beans, as it were, around the twisty roads... I can find my fun elsewhere. I just need a car to get me from A-B-C-Z with enough power to get past people that don't really care if they get to B this week or not.
