jonsbo V4 or alternative for silent/passive build?

Hey all,

I'm planning on building a compact PC build with the following parts:
Ryzen 3900 OEM 65W CPU
NoFan CR-80EH passive Cooler
Corsair Vengeance LPX 128gb 4x32gb 3200MHz RAM
Gigabyte B550M Aorus Pro motherboard
Silverstone NJ450 passive PSU

I've looked into the Jonsbo V4 as it's very compact for sure :)

I was wondering if there are any alternatives you'd recommend for a small M-ATX silent build?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Are you looking to cook eggs on this PC?

Presumably your intention is to do without case fans? So how is the heat going to escape from this case, when there's very little ventilation (and none on top)?

As a curiosity, why passive cooling? Asking because going from low RPM fans to completely passive cooling is a big jump in terms of the difficulty in keeping parts cool.

This is why I'm asking for any potential alternative cases?

Size-wise, the Jonsbo is great, but the ventilation is lacking for-sure.

I plan on going fully silent as I primarily compose music and do sound design when using my PC. So a fully-passive build would be great!

Any recommendations would be great! :D

What about the Cooler Master Silencio?

I am unsure how CPU intensive your music programs are, but the case will be about as quiet as you can get as is also micro-atx.

You can set pwm fans to stop below certain temperatures for absolute silence, but they will be as good as silent at low rpm in this sort of case.

Just get a good CPU air tower cooler for it and jobs a goodun

You basically want the most open case possible, whilst having enough space for the massive Nofan cooler. You'll be relying on air flowing around the room for removing heat, so the more you restrict this flow of air, the higher your temps will be.

In terms of small cases, the Cooler Master case above is probably the smallest that fits the bill. You might need to take the mesh filters off. And even then, there are no guarantees of good performance and acceptable temperatures.

If you want smaller and/or better looking, you'll be looking at a passive cooling case (e.g. the ones made by Streacom).

One alternative I've seen come up a few times is a custom loop with external radiators placed out of the way (a cupboard, or another room). You can even put the pump over at the rad end. That way, you have a PC that's "silent", without any concerns over cooling capacity. You also aren't limited on case choice, and can build a very compact system.

that fan at 50% makes no sound. there is just no need for passive. unless running passive specific hardwear.
the cooler your have picked is very good but its from a day when 4c/4t would make 75w and most this run in 1 thread. fitting it to a 12c/24t cpu is insane

my 3700x as a hyper212 with push pull fans locked at 30% and it hits 60c in games.

what your intended use the best option is the have the system in a different room.
