anyone here use joomla? i really need a new cms and joomla looks great, but for some reason i'm having a ***** of a time trying to get it installed.

it doesn't even seem to come with a config.php :/

Had a look at it.. didnt like it because i couldnt customise it very easily.. + i was a noob, so i gave up. It does look quite nice though anyway.

I've just installed it for a "business" website I'm going to be running for my Young Enterprise company. Installation is incredibly easy, I just had to point my browser at the domain and it gave me the installer. Before installing the current version I'd had a quick play with the 1.5 Beta but discovered several problems so switched back to the stable release.

I'm just playing around with the rewrite option atm (though not necessary) but keep getting Internal Server Errors :(.

I had tried using Joomla on my personal site a month or two back but found the admin interface distracting and have settled with Wordpress (much prefer the admin interface for personal website use, but I think Joomla is going to better for this new site).

null :)

still not working... followed the installation instructions to the letter, yet at the end of installing it keeps trying to access the installation script instead of going to the index page.

sod it, i'm going back to mkportal. this really isn't worth the hours i've been wasting on it.

Only thing I can think of is dodgy permissions? Have you checked they are correct? Obvious I know but worth checking.

yeah, it checks permissions in the install script, and i got green lights on all of them.

doesn't matter though, i'm quite happy going back to mkportal, since i already know it very well.
