JoWood Closing

Is the second one as good as the first? I only played the first, but got Spellforce Universe for a tenner recently for all the expansions and spellforce 2, but still havnt played it.

I know, I'll install it now!

Well I'm not guy you quoted but from my experience Spellforce 2 is defo the better game. Not that I didn't enjoy the first it's just 2 was more in-depth/fleshed out.

Kudos to them for sticking with the pc market, sadly it's cost them.

Sure there was good and the bad, disapointed the way that stargate worked out personaly, but i think there were more issues with that other than jowoods influence.

Enjoyed the guild series, silent storm, and thanking them for fronting up the developement costs for some grood pc ip's down the last 10+ years.

Hope the guys can rise from the ashes, and recontribute toward the industry.

I think the only game I played of theirs was Chaser. And that was astronomically dire.

Have to disagree with that one, Chaser was dull at the start but as it unfolded it turned into a really great FPS. I was gutted when i couldnt get windows 7 to play it :(

Other than that, and the stargate fiasco (unforgivable) then it's one less company pumping out bad games.

I didn't play the first one but thought the second one was great, well worth putting the time in, lots of puzzles good gameplay. I think the expansion was good too.

If JoWood had anything to do with Drakensang and Spellforce (I remember seeing the logo in other similar games) then it seems a shame, I really liked those games.

They also did the rather excellent Silent Storm, which I loved to bits.

and this, very good game too.

Loved Soldner but it was let down by poor support, never bought anything with Jowood on it after that.
