Hi there

Have recently been given Flight Sim X and am looking at getting a joystick to go with it for xmas.

My budget is £40 top and I was just wondering what people would recommend? I have seen one which is wireless, which I would prefer but a couple of people I have seen, seem to advise against it, would anyone be able to advise why?

Thanks

I would get a force feedback one. I'm not sure how much the microsoft one is now but that's what I use and recommend it.

I think its called a 'microsoft sidewinder force feedback joystick'.

:)

I cant seem to find these for retail now, saw someone saying Microsoft had stopped supporting them.

Any other suggestions?

Depends how much of a flightsim enthusiast that you are..sidewinder are ok but a bit cheap for me and a little weak also, having one snap in my hand while playing IL2,they also have deadzone increase in such a short time especially if you use it a lot...dont bother with saitek either they aint that good mate,i have researhed this subject in the past being a big fan of flightsim games,my first being fighterpilot by digital integration on the zx spectrum way back in 1983(i was 8 years old lol)

Go here for the best looking stick in the world made of diecast metal...but not the best for reliability(gimball problems unless you spend more money to customise it even further)however it is an exact replica of a HOTAS in an f16 fighter jet and i do mean exact replica!!

Or go here to buy the most durable a most versatile programmed stick ever made

These sticks are both HOTAS(hands on throttle and stick)i personally went for the fighterstick pro with throttle costing me over £200!Saying that they have the best customer support forums and the stick is programmable to use with any game at all...thanks to CH manager....take alook for yourself...thse are probably the 2 best sticks in the world...CH products has been making flightsticks for over 20 years....and they do seem to last forever lol

oh yeah you can buy both sticks from amazon uk
