Joystick for X3?

Finally taken the plunge and ordered X3. Can anyone recommend a decent joystick for this game (do I even need one?)?

I'm not the greatest X3 expert as I didn't give it the time it deserved but I found controlling the ship via mouse easier than with a stick.

As for a good stick I had the Seitek Cyborg Evo which I can reccomend.

OK. Thanks. I found another site that said a stick wasn't required so I'll probably go for it without.

I wasn't that keen on the mouse controls in X3, although they seemed to work ok. I use a Microsoft sidewinder FF 2, it works brilliantly with X3 and most other games requiring a stick.

I found controlling the ship via mouse easier than with a stick.

Hmm, in X2 I found mouse control ok for general flying but impossible for dog fights.

Bought a Logitech Attack 3 which was fine though it only had software calibration and would often track slightly left when not being touched. Still, it was cheap

Lent it to a friend a while back and am now having cravings for X3. Might give it a try on mouse.

Thanks for the replies. I now have a copy of the game so will try it with just a mouse and see how I get on.
