Joysticks? Anyone?

Well I've gone back through 4/5 pages and cannot see any ref to joysticks / flight sticks? Are they no longer in vogue?

My bro has purchased some ships in Star Citizen and does not want to splash out on a full HOTAS system until much closer to game release. So was looking for an interim solution for the next 18/24 months...

Seems to be rather limited options on OCUK for budget joysticks - Thrustmaster or a Saitek? Any thoughts or suggestions on build quality / accuracy / which is best for a space sim?

This one is highly regarded and considered one of the best at its price point.

That one Brok linked is good but the one I'd go for is Logitech Extreme 3D Pro.

Thanks for the suggestions guys, a 'mini-hotas' system for £32 is very reasonable! The Logitech stick does look sweet as well... OK at least I have a couple more ideas to take back to him now. Thanks again.

I use the Thrustmaster HOTAS and the only issue I have is the lead between the 2 units is a bit to short and can't be made any longer (well not without taking it all apart and soldering in a new one

).

I play a fair bit of ED and I've been using the Logitech Extreme 3D and keyboard (it's actually not a bad control scheme).
