Joytech AV control xbox 360

Just received this av control centre, and all i got is a black and white picture from the xbox which my TV says is only 480i. and no sound through optical to 5.1 amp.

Im gutted it was a xmas present I bought for myself.

Anyone else got one of these and had similar problems???

you may need to check the settings on the control box, iirc (I was looking at another one in the range) it can be set to only switch certain AV/audio formats, so it may be switching just the composite/analogue audio at the moment (basically in "non hd tv" mode).

Just a rough guess.

The unit is not set up to display component by default so it is necessary to adjust these settings initially.

Thanks for the replies in the handbook it states default setting Component but it is not. So i managed to get HD video but the sound is fooked, i get optical digital sound from my SKy box no problem but from the Xbox just makes a clicking noise and the lights on my amp flicker.

Does it work when you plug the optical cable directly into the xbox advanced av cable and not through the joytech box?

Also have you set it to Dolby Surround in the xbox options?

yeah it was all working fine without the control centre between them, I now have it working through it but not through the dedicated xbox lead/connection just using the separate component input.
