Hey guys

On my old xbox 360 I started to get into some jrpg's. I have noticed on the PC this genre does not seem to have many titles. Can you guys list any jrpg's you have played on the PC please? I have just put 3-4 hours into Last Remnant which I got from steam and I must say I love it so far.

I also have a ps2 emulator so even ps2 titles will be OK. I have downloaded the gamecube emulator as well, I have not tried this but as I understand it this runs rather well as well.

Thanks for any help

If you haven't played them yet. Play through all the final fantasys. Truly the best rpgs, amazing story lines and awesome animated cut scenes :)

Recettear and Chantelise are pretty unique JRPGs, though not perhaps in the standard form.

Very few make it to the PC as AAA releases, though there are a ton of indie ones like those linked above. Final Fantasy is what people think of when people say JRPG, the first six games were before the playstation era, though most of them have been released either onto PSX or handheld formats. VII and VIII had PC releases, and anything after is PS1, 2 or 3. Plus there's XI and XIII which are MMOs.

Related, there's Kingdom Hearts, which may appear a little kiddy, but I absolutely loved it. Again, PS2.

If you fancy some music related history on top of your usual rpg bits may I recommend Eternal Sonata? Game plays inside Frederic Chopin's head just before he dies. Only the Japanese could come up with that concept.

EDIT: Scratch that, just noticed you said PC which is a no no with the above. Real shame too as it's a great game.

@Cat In Pyjamas: Eternal Sonata was one of the games I did manage to play on the 360 before selling it. Quite enjoyed playing it.

Final Fantasy VII
Final Fantasy VIII
Breath of Fire 3
Grandia 2

There were PC versions for the above, but since they are old now, you might have some compatibility issues.

A company called Falcom is known for producing JRPGs exclusively for the PC but the majority of them never make it out of Japan. They are also known for the Y's series.
