Well the one thing to do is see it fully working before you part with the cash.

Run some tests on it to see if there are any dead/stuck pixels.

LCD Dead Pixel Test

I assume this is a Dell 3007WFP.

You can buy a brand new Dell U3011 for £900 so you shouldn't be too surprised at £320 for a 3 year old model with no warranty.

The most important thing is to see it working.

If the seller is happy to let you sit and test it for an hour then do it.

If all he'll do is switch it on and give you a quick look then be wary.

Check things like the settings he's using. If the brightness is at 100% to get a decent picture then the backlight is on the way out.

Why is he selling it?

Why does that matter?

He's not going to say he's selling it because there's something wrong with it is he?

The OP needs to see it fully working.

If the seller isn't prepared to let him test it out for a while then the OP should walk away.

At the end of the day it'll be caveat emptor so the OP needs to be as sure as possible that it works properly.

thx for the advice guys, didnt know there was a dead pixel test programe out there so i use that and run callofduty and hopefully it will be fine because ive always wanted one of these but jst dont think there worth upto £1200

been messing about with all night, defo no dead pixels and brightness is fine,i feel i got a crackin deal here considering they cost £1000,i was intending on getting the u24 but this seemed a better deal, was this a good deal or what/how do i get the best picture possible for games as it has no on screen display, only 2 buttons for the brightness or does dell fix all the colour, sharpness before it leaves the factory, other than that the picture is superb, someone mentioned custom icc profiles or is it best not to mess about with it

Most likly a dell 3007wfp-hc r02 if he aint lieing about how old it is which was selling for around £800 in the uk sometime in 2010.
The older version 3007wfp still sells for £500 on *bay and i actually have a buyer buying my wfp-hc for £415 tomorrow.

Personlly found it abit big for fps games and thats with quite a big desk with width of 90cm. Also TN seems smoother to me. But still injoyed using it for single player games. desktop usage and some movies.
But thats a good deal for £320. Payed £470 for mine from a guy that needed to sell it quick due to moving abroad. If its the HC version. Even better

no,its not the hc version, but still a good buy right, the only thing i dont like is the colour seems a bit bland and not sharp enough as there is no on screen display, ive read this one needs calibrated to make it look a lot better, but its working fine so far, maybe a custom icc profile will help, and internet exproler keeps crashing at log on /strange?
