Ivybridge uses less power and has a better IGP but the sandybridge CPU is no slouch.

The Z77 mobo has lucidMVP so the IGP can boost that 6870 for you. I have the liteon DVD drive, you can actually flash the firmware to a 524 and unlock the extra features ;)

I use this case for budget gaming builds (i have one myself). Lots of features for a good price.

Did you sort a cooler to overclock the CPU? Is that RAM low profile?

Honestly I don't know what Low profile RAM is lol.

Can you recommened me a CPU cooler for under £20 please? :) I'm only looking to overclock it to roughly 4.2-4.5

TBH honest you should have gone for a cheaper Core I5 Quad, the ones that dont oc and a cheap H61 Mobo and put the money saved on something like a GTX 480.

in terms of gaming

i5 2320/h61/gtx480 >>> i5 2500k/z77/radeon 6870.

Won't it 2530 bottleneck i5 2500k? - I'm overclocking the CPU and crossfiring my 6870, with h61 board I can't crossfire.

It wouldn't bottleneck a 6870 really. However, your route is better I'd say. Best to get a good CPU, and a good motherboard. Easy then to upgrade the graphics card or add another one later and you know you've got the CPU power for it (and can overclock too if needs be :))

it wont bottleneck.

if you want to crossfire that a different story personally though i like to have one powerful card than 2 weaker ones, less of a headache that way
