I'm slowly migrating from Vista 32 to 64, and I'm looking for things I can keep on my 32bit drive rather than having to install them on the 64 drive as well. At the moment, the main things are uTorrent and the Folding SMP client.

Would it be possible just to run these in the 64 version, and have them continue as normal. As in the torrents I'm downloading continue as normal, and the WU I'm folding continues as normal. Or would they both try and start from the beginning? I know I could just download uTorrent and just get the .torrent files and point to the download directory, but some of the ones I have are rather large, and would take a long time to check the completion of them. As for the folding client, I just don't want to loose a day of work.

Utorrent will be fine providing you remember to re-select the download folder, but the WinSMP client is unstable enough without trying to run it from another installation. It'll need its smpd.exe process running from within x64 Vista anyway. You should be able to just copy the Work folder and unitifo files into the new FaH CPU install directory on x64 Vista if you switch mid-crunch.

Thanks for the reply. In that case, I'll probably just wait, and catch it at the beginning of a WU and see how much I can copy over with it staying stable. Now, off to make a readyboost thread :)

just don't do folding, it's a pointless waste of electricity!

torrents might want to recheck, disable av (if you use any) and things like defender real-time scanning when doing it to speed it up
