No, this isn't supposed to be in the music forum.

I'm curious as to what people consider the difference to be between a "junior developer" and a "senior developer" in terms of programming and web development? How would you define each?

Junior tends to just be code cutters, whilst senior's aid in design.

It's also supposed to be Junior is 'fresh' whilst the senior has 'a wealth of practical knowledge'

Exceptions to the rule(s) exist, of course.

Senior developer for me would someone with about 5+ years experience and somebody who would manage projects and personnel (junior developers. ;)).

Maybe they will also be involved with some of the technical sales and business aspects also.

Yes, that's essentially how I see it - was looking for some confirmation when it occurred to me that I couldn't confidently explain the difference. Senior being more of a technical manager - someone who has a very good understanding of the relevant technologies, but operates in a management/lead role rather than a practical one. And perhaps is the one that provides the bridge between the technical team and the non-technical management.

I think a senior developer would be someone with x amount of years experience with knowledge of various different technologies/software and such. Possibly with management responsibilities over juniors.

A junior would be someone looking to get into the field and expand on what they already know. And to make copious amounts of coffee whenever they are told to.
