I'm 12 minutes into the last one.
I'm that thick it took me to the end of episode 7 to realise the people going to the Island are the same people with powers :)

I watched through this over the course of yesterday and today.

Overall I'm not a fan and I doubt I'll bother with season two should it get one. I kept watching in hope of some sort of payoff, but it ended up being 8 episodes where not a lot happened, it could have easily been condensed into half of what it was. It just felt meandering and disjointed despite having a fairly simplistic plot, the characters I found largely unlikable. The acting was hit and miss, the CGI was atrociously bad at times, and the action was poorly choreographed.

I'd recommend The Boys, Umbrella Academy, and Invincible for someone after a super hero fix, but this show was not my cup of tea.

LoL to be fair they were glazing over the story as there was quite a few bits cut out from the comic that would have made a bit more sense. Can't wait for season 2 if they follow the source material.

Never heard of it till now. Netflix used to be something to get excited about back when it was new...nowadays it's either gone too young or to female? or whatever, it sucks these days.

I enjoyed it, went in not watching any trailers thinking it was going to be another CW style superhero show but luckily it's not. Some of the side plots didn't hit with me but overall it was decent.

Ah shame, trailer looked ok, was hoping hear something more positive here as I did like the look of some of the scenes.

First episode was garbage, the fight scenes really suck - I think if they had fewer random heroes though could've focused more on the CGI quality, however, the underlying story was decent and ended up watching the whole thing over 2 days.

Wasn't bad at all, nowhere near as bad as I expected it was going to be. I honestly thought the title of the show was going to refer to a person, or the God, so when that happened in episode 7 I was a little shocked to say the least.

And a mention has to go to Leslie Bibb with white hair, Goddamn.

Was OK - something was a little bit off with the structure/development which I can't quite put my finger on - kind of felt a bit aimless at times.

Hated the contrived stupid way they were given the powers, they could have invented a better way they got the powers the bible is more believable .. That hole last episode detracted from the overall show so much.

And the secret was.... Magic..

Feel the same, problem I find is a lot of the netflix original content is mostly the same kind of theme, sci fi, super powers for example. They need more variety, they have the good shows that come along every so often like Ozark, Cobra Kai, Better Call Saul, but the stuff that hits the service more regularly I find is all similar themed.

It wasnt really magic, its a classic super hero origin story thats been done to death in all sorts of variation
from Higher Power, Cosmic Entity , Gods, Aliens, they are aliens, accident, curse etc etc

Personally I thought the scene
where they returned to the boat felt pretty amazing imo.***Warning Spoiler*** Video Spoiler below click at your own risk!

Yes definitely, for your average viewer it's a bit disjointed, it's integral to the story hopefully they expand on that season 2.

Started watching this, but just finished episode 4 and I'm bored to tears. It is so slow, and nothing really happens! There also isn't one character that i care about. They all seem rather boring and dreary. The "code" thing is just odd from the off. "OMG son why didn't you just let him kill us and thousands of civilians in a nuclear explosion!"

The rebellious daughter who doesn't want to follow her in her parent's footsteps is massively over done and cliche. I'm also fed up of watching Sheldon have psychedelic trips/spooky visions. Some of the make up is atrocious as well (ie Sheldon's dead dad....looked like a Halloween mask from Tesco).

Shame, because i thought it seemed promising from the 1st episode. Going to cut my losses and stop watching now.

would have been better if they had to fight kong on the island :D

That's cause teeny crap is cheap to write and easy to make. I have been thinking for a while now to cancel my subscription, but I have a few family members on my account and I don't miss the tenner so I'll leave it for their sake.

Not sure if covid has been the cause due to filming issues or not.
