Just 400K PS3s for U.S Launch

The U.S will receive just 400,000 PlayStation 3 units at launch, according to statements made by Ken Kutaragi.

Speaking to AP, he said that two million units would be shipped to the US and Japan by the end of this year, thereby slashing the original figure by half. Just 500,000 machines will arrive at launch with Japan reportedly earmarked to receive 100,000.

This amount by any normal company standards is classed as a (soft launch)
 
I would have thought more PS3 would be allocated to Japan considering its Sony home place is it not.

Certainly not many going to be some unhappy people in a few months.
 
Yep i agree what is the point of them launching with so little stock they will only disapoint more customers when they cant get hold of one

Sony never learn the 360 launched with twice as many consoles and it still sold out on day one leaving lots of people @%&$$ off
