Just a bit of thakns to ocuk members

Before anyone else gets in that's OcUK not OkUK!

Well this year has started rather well at my local camera club (Northolt and District) so I just wanted to say thanks to the posters on this forum as you've helped my improve my photography no end.

I joined the club as a bit of a noob this time last year last year and felt quite daunted as nearly all the photographers have at least LRPS status and been taking photos for the last 40 years. I joined with just a P&S canon S50 and about one years interest in photography.

In the last three weeks I have won Print of the year and got 20 out of 20 for two shots in open and set subject (markets) cometition. I know it's not really up there with CyKey's recent news but it is a big step forward for me. Without all of you posting and critiquing shots here I probably wouldn't have got there so thanks .

Joe T - I know you used to live in Amersham so you may be interested in a few shots I took in the summer around there with the club. Link here

They're all from the fields around the back of the town so it's pretty much all poppys rather than Old Amersham itself but thought you might be interested. They're not great shots but I've been cycling round that way and the area has some great potential.

Well done One quick question, what is the RPS and what is so special about it?

It's the Royal Photographic Society. It's a recognised qualification and you can put letters after your name if you get approved. LRPS (Licentiateship) is the lowest grade but you still need to know your stuff to get it.
