As I think it's worth highlighting good service as well as bad, I thought I'd tell this short story...
My iphone has lately been a bit temperamental about 3G signal (and WWAN access in general to be honest) and it's approaching the end of it's warranty so I thought I'd book a genius slot in an apple store and go and talk to them.
I thought (and still do to an extent) that it was likely just the state of o2's network currently causing me problems.
Upshot was I talked through the issue for five minutes with the guy and he just said he was happy to replace it on those grounds. So 20 minutes later I walked out with a new iphone in place of my 11 and a half month old one. I should add I wasn't angling for a replacement particularly, I just explained what it was doing honestly.
Compared to my previous experience of faulty phones (we'll send it away for repair for two weeks and give you a base spec handset as a temp loan if you're lucky) I'm really very happy with that outcome and my new phone does seem a tad more reliable though I haven't been around town to properly test it when it was really bad before.
Still, just to throw it out as good service which isn't (in my experience) the norm in the mobile industry...
